Idol Maker: Refined Palette

My game for the jam, still being worked on.
The game is a visual novel/management game where you play as the manager of a new up and coming idol from an idol company that’s run on hard times. To fund her career, the company already has a contract with a fast food corporation to make her their spokesperson in exchange for having her work off the debt in the contract over the course of the next 3 years. Your goal is really up to you, but you’ll probably want to clear up that debt if you want any decent ending.
Push her to her limits, and set her career up for success (of failure). Idols have certain expectations, such as maintaining their figure, but being a spokesperson for a sketchy fast food company makes that a little hard. So it’s a good thing the corporation is willing to help you out by employing a little social engineering in the media, pushing the limits of what kind of figure is expected of idols (at the low, low, price of more debt)!
Gameplay to expect is kind of a mix of Princess Maker, Idol Manager, and (to a much lesser degree) Huniepop.
Majority the of art is mine, but it does still use RPG maker assets and ai generated backgrounds for the sake of time. 10 weight levels, and a clothing system (though that won’t mean much for the jam version)

Would like to see a sequel for this with different girls, body shapes, and more content! Was hard to get the hang of it at first but still enjoying it tho.
I'm kind of doing that, but instead of a sequel I'm refining this one to be closer to what I was shooting for before I had to cut things down for time. 3 new idols with different body shapes and more content is exactly what I'm working on first.

Curious but anyone has a guide for this game as I can never seem to do well.
Do you plan on later replacing the background images of this game? If not, will you please consider adding an option to remove them from view in a future update?
I would like to replace the background images, but I would need help to do so. I'm not a background artist, and it would look much worse if I did it myself.
I could make an option to make them not visible.
Thank you, as long as there's an option to make them not visible, that's fine with me. I feel physically uncomfortable looking at ai imagery, I don't have anything against the concept but it I can't really look at it...

Heya! A quick question, but do you have a .zip folder of your game by chance? As last time I attempted to use a .rar opener and then delete it off my desktop, it was causing serious issues.

Hey, I'm struggling to keep up with all the tasks and what I need to do/have done. Is it possible you could impliment a more easily understandable checklist type thing to help? I'm not sure if its just me not understanding it well but I can't figure out what to do to solve problems like doing well in the commercials. Thanks anyways for the game!
ie, when i do the commercial, sometimes im above 2000 whilst sometimes im below, and im not sure whether its my acting, eating or hunger which causes it to be low, since my acting only goes up and i always go there on an empty stomach. I think it'd just be helpful if there were tips for that.
Yeah, the commercials are a mix of your Eating, Acting, Low hunger, and a random chance. Early game is heavily reliant on random chance going in your favor for the commercials. Showing up with an empty stomach is an automatic +1000, then you get a random boost of +0-1000, and Eating and Acting skills are directly added to your total score (so if you have 250 acting, you would get +250 to your total score). Once you either have one of those two skills at 1000 or you have some combination of both that equals 1000, I don't think it's possible to fail the commercials anymore.
As for a checklist, the commercials are the only thing you really HAVE to do, but releasing a single pretty much every month is pretty much needed to beat the game (well, to pay off the debt, since you may ulitimately want the ending where you don't pay it back)
Thanks for the response, that clears up a lot. Another question is that my data isn't saving? Not sure if it's on my end or if there's a problem with the game itself, since it's happened twice now. Apologies for all these questions.
I haven't had this problem or heard it before... hmm. What happens when you save?
I save normally and then quit the game, but the next day I load up and the saves aren't there. Could it be because I need to extract the game from the winrar file? I haven't had a problem with other games like that but I think that could potentially be the problem?

im so glad to hear that as i have enjoyed this one in particular beyond just fetish it was genuinely fun to figure out.
