Heroes on a Budget
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Currently a very unfinished demo build for the game, this is mostly for showing off the Rogue's stealth minigame.
Heroes on a Budget is a role playing game about three prophesied heroes being set out to defeat an unidentified eldritch being in only a matter of months. The other problem? Due to the impending battle/calamity being so widely known thanks to the prophecy, soldiers and ordinary citizens have already bought nearly all of the healing and mana potions available. This forces the party to rely almost entirely on food items to restore their health and mana. With the threat looming so close, the party will have to choose whether to eat food and risk weight gain to get stronger from defeating enemies and completing quests, or burning time instead by sleeping to get their strength back.
Game Mechanics:
Resource management system: You need to manage your time, money, HP, MP, healing items, and weight/fat levels effectively to get better results and endings.
Weight gain system: As the party members eat food items to heal or from events, they'll get fatter over time. Weight isn't a strict negative, characters at higher weight levels have higher defense and ice resistance, but are slower and have a weakness to fire damage. Many events will also take weight level into account, changing dialogue and outcomes. If a character gets too fat however, they will be forced to stay in the town while the remaining party goes adventuring without them.
Time Limit: Every chapter will be limited to 14 days each. Each day having a morning, daytime, and night segment. Different activities around town are available depending on the time of day, or you can go into the adventure field with the party to fight monsters and complete quests. Failing to do a chapter's main quest will make it much more difficult to get the full endings.
Emphasis on choice: Most side quests will have multiple solutions or outcomes based on the choice of the player, sometimes moral, sometimes how you accomplished your tasks. The game will have many endings for each main party member, town, and some noteworthy side characters.
Combat Choice: You will have choices in customizing how the party plays in combat too. What spells the mage learns is fully up to the player's choice through a studying system. The warrior can be made to focus on being faster and having a higher attack, or slower and a higher defense through which equipment is chosen for them etc.

how to input codes from DE?
When do you think this project will be out of the demo phase (if you plan to continue working on it)?
so whats the code for the door in the middle of the lake, actually nvm, better question, how do you progress?
the code is "Hollow", but keep in mind that this build is just really a showcase for the stealth minigame, there isn't really much progressing to be done, sorry.
Well, for now the game is SUCK (I now its a demo, but still). Minigame is not bad (I even managed to pull a table with dish), but has a bug. After about 3-5 successful robs (with power of SAVE) almost all houses become "robed", while I didn't even get there. On the last rob I managed to retreat right after I was spotted.
The Mac version can't open the app
or like are there debug things like giving myself money
Sorry I don't check this page very often, I'd go to the Weight Gaming Forum's thread for a faster response. But to answer your question, I'll put in some debugging tools for the next demo if you want them, but the upload after this next one I'm posting will be the full chapter release (So the debug tools won't be there for very long).
Can I have a link of your WGF page?
